Individuals with a criminal record may face a lot of adversities, particularly if they are trying to improve their circumstances and turn their lives around. For example, a 42-year-old woman working as a secretary was struggling to advance in her career because a misdemeanor check deception conviction appears on any background analysis. Despite the fact that she had not had any legal troubles since the 1990’s, the stigma attached to this crime of dishonesty was severely limiting her opportunities. Recently, the woman became aware of some new guideline regarding expungements in Indiana, but knew that she’d needed a skilled attorney to navigate the expungement process, so she reached out to the defense attorneys at Hessler Law PC.

With the goal of permanently removing this offense from his record, attorney Sean Hessler completed the necessary steps and filed a petition with the court to expunge his client’s past transgression. When the process was finalized and approved, his client’s criminal record was wiped clean and the woman was relieved to move forward with her life without this past crime holding her back any longer.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
