Fake ID Charges Dismissed After Diversion Program for Out-of-State StudentJul 31 2017, by Alcohol, Case Results, Juvenile Charges in
Not long ago, a 20-year-old college student, visiting from out-of-state found himself in a difficult position when officers approached him for consuming alcohol at a concert in Indianapolis. When they discovered that he had a fake ID and had used it to purchase alcohol, the man was charged with several misdemeanor level offenses of possession of a false government ID, underage possession of alcohol, presenting a false ID, and a summary offense of being a minor in possession of a false ID. Obviously, he wanted to mitigate the potential impact to his life, but it was also very important to handle this matter without disrupting his life in another state.
Once he retained the services of Hessler Law, PC, experienced Indianapolis criminal defense attorney Sean Hessler began working on his behalf. Based on his previously clear criminal history, attorney Hessler facilitated his client’s enrollment in a diversion program for first-time offenders. This was completely managed without this student’s need to return to Indiana and after he completed a class about the dangers of alcohol and performed some community service, the case was dismissed and he could put this behind him and move on.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
