A 22-year-old unemployed man was recently charged with Level 5 battery involving serious bodily injury. He was allegedly walking through the neighborhood with his friends when a neighbor confronted them, striking her with a skateboard. The young man faced up to six years in jail and a fine of $10,000.
Attorney Sean Hessler thoroughly investigated the man’s case and spoke with numerous witnesses. He pointed out that there were evidentiary problems on both sides and other discrepancies. This let him negotiate with the prosecution, eventually resolving the matter with his client completing one year of probation in exchange for the felony charge being reduced to a misdemeanor.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
